White Kobe and I always wondered why anyone would represent the 909 area so hard. Our logic was that we are from the greater Los Angeles area, so why not rep LA? To me the 909 is full of fake it till you make it, all talk no walk type folks. Maybe that's because I'm from here, so I see all the fakes. I don't see the fakes from other areas because I'm not from there and only the real shine from a distance.
I had the pleasure of working with one of these 909 reppin' cats, a producer named J Bizness. He and his crew, all from the 909, came to DJ Buddy TV and had an hour long cypher. Rhyme for rhyme beat for beat they all handled their business, never faultering once. Watch that episode here.
In the interview I asked, "Why do you guys rep the 909 so hard?"
They all replied, almost simultaneously, "Who else will?"
